A multistarrer from N- Heroes! Dream for many N fans!

Telugu Industry has not been so favorable to multistarrers though here and there were few multistarrers. Few of the notable multistarrers were critically acclaimed as well as commercially successful and few ended up  as failures too.

The multistarrer movies Telugu audience supported well in the last decade are

1. Seethamma Vakitlo Sirmalle Chettu – Venkatesh & Mahesh Babu

2. Gopala Gopala – Venkatesh & Pawankalyan

3. Yevadu – Ramcharan & Allu Arjun

4. Oo kodathara ulikki padthara – NBK & Manoj

5. Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummedha – Manchu Heroes.

6.Sankranthi – Venkatesh,Srikanth

On the other hand we have seen few failures as well

1. Krishnarjuna  – Vishnu & Nagarjuna

2. Shadow- Venkatesh & Srikanth

3. Romeo- Raviteja & Sairam Shankar

4. Sarochcharu – Raviteja & Nara Rohit

Coming to N heroes, we have Tarak, NBK, Kalyanram, Tarakarathna, Nara Rohit and NHK was a hero as well. Its wish of many fans to see at least few of these heroes share screen space on the silver screen. So why not a movie be made with N heroes combination?

1)A family entertainer in which NBK& NHK in father roles,Tarak, NKR, Tarakarathna, Nara Rohit in the current generation roles
2) A simple family drama with NBK,Tarak,NKR/Tarakarathna

3) A full length comedy entertainer with Tarak, NKR,Tarakarathna, Rohit.

The movie can be made under NTR arts banner with a limited budget ,as a concept based movie with more comedy, so that the movie will be a minimum guarantee hit and will emerge as a commercial hit at the box office. More over this can help N heroes like NKR, Tarakarathna, Nara rohit who are waiting for a big commercial success. Will make many N fans dream come true and also it will be a visual treat for us to see at least 2-3 N heroes on silver screen together!

Waiting for feedback from my dear co Tarak fans on this thought!

Temper – My Take

All Tarak fans are eagerly awaiting for Temper movie ,so are Puri fans. Puri is on a good track record recently with Businessman,Heartattack becoming hits and Idharammayilatho being an average flick. On the other hand, Tarak , is in need of a blockbuster, as his last 2 movies were not hits at Boxoffice

Positives:
1. This is the third movie for Tarak as cop and his previous 2 cop based movies are hits.
2. Puri is well known for handling cop based movies.
3. Puri makes stylish underplay movies that turn as heavy grossers at BO
4. Tarak performance irrespective of the script will be the highlight and best as usual.
5. Dialogue delivery of Tarak is the best asset.

6. Previous combo from these was a failure at BO and hence it will be a defenite plus.
7. Last 2 movies of Tarak not hits at BO

Negatives:

1. Piracy- for all movies its not avoidable
2. Expectations for a mass flick from Tarak – if its a class flick,it may not go well with a section of audience
3. Anup rubens is not known for best music. If he turns out good it will be a plus to Temper than a minus.
4. Release time. If it clashes with any biggie, the result of the other biggie might impact Temper.

As a Tarak die hard fan, I am hoping this movie will be a milestone in Tarak’s performance in the movie and at the BO.

My take on a Fan’s emotional speech to NTR Jr@Tarak!

Recently a die hard fan of Tarak @ NTR jr from Bangalore has posted a audio clip in youtube about his feelings on Tarak’s movies and what kind of roles he wishes to see Tarak in future. After listening to the clip, I felt its not only his feeling alone and many other fans like him has the same feeling too. There is good amount of coverage in the media(ABN, TV9,Times of India) about the feelings of him.

Since most of the fans has already listened to the clip there is nothing much to be told about the clip here. My sincere thanks to this die hard fan for bringing out the feelings of atleast many thousands of NTR fans to public.

Here I wish to continue from where he left. No one in Telugu Film Industry can deny the fact that Tarak is the best of the lot of current generation heroes , who is best in terms of acting, dance and high energetic performances. With all the qualities he has in terms of his onscreen performance , I feel he has not even did 50% of his capability he possesses. A section of the fans might not agree to this, but its true.

The kind of performances he delivered in Aadhi,Simhadri,Yamadonga,Raakhi,Ooseravalli are not repeated again in any of his movies, or not even half of it is repeated in other movies. His humourous roles in Brindavanam, Adhurs proved that he is very good in doing such roles with ease and give the best. But the recent movies like Ramayya vasthavayya, Rabhasa had weak story lines though Tarak tried to give best out of him, they failed to impress the audience.

I feel that Tarak is again pulled back to his mass flicks by the movie makers which will not give any scope for him to deliver performances to his full capability. Tarak , if chooses stories that offer full scope to deliver much more performances will defenitely make him uncomparable. But at present he is not doing so. Hope Temper reveals another dimension of his performances and satisfy all sections of the audiences.

As of now, Tarak is confined to the mass section of audience and he is seen as a mass hero, though he is way above that. Though he managed to get close to family and female audience with adhurs, brindavanam and baadshah , he dint manage to hold these sections with his other movies. Fans like me feel that he has to do something different to get hold of all sections of audience and do much more meaty roles that can elevate his performances and make him a complete actor than simply a Mass hero.

For doing that first he needs to think beyond his star image and select movies that offer much more scope and variety to his acting dimensions. There are lot of new , talented film makers who are very good in doing off beat cinema, or movies that give much scope for the main cast to give their best performances. And added to that there are concept based movies, similar to Hollywood which can be done in a short period of time and in the best way. This does not mean that Tarak should stop doing Mass entertainers, in between his mass flicks, he can do different genre movies that will cater to different sections of audiences which will increase his fan base to a greater extent and bring family, female and youth to his movies much more than present scenario.

I have a few suggestions to Tarak for utilizing his full capability as actor, those will definitely help him to reach towering heights if chosen.

1. Getting into Shankar, Manirathnam movies , that are beyond his star image( like Oke okkadu, Aparichithudu,I)

2. Simple Love stories with lot of humour

3. Family entertainers with very little mass elements

4. Concept oriented movies

5. Situation based movies ( story starts and ends on the same day – a thrilling incedent / humours incident is the core of the movie)

6. Full length comedy entertainers

7. Thrillers ( like bhadram)

8. Social message oriented movies

9. Off beat movies

Except for the point 1, all the rest can be done within 20-30 days of shooting time, with a lower budget and can be done in between 2 mass entertainers. This will bring in more dimensions to his acting, he can show his full acting capability, and make movies catering to all sections of audiences. Barring the remuneration of the cast and crew, these movies can be done within a budget of 2-5 crores. and with the market capability and stardom of Tarak, these will end up as commercially successful movies too, besides being successful on performance front.

More over these can be done on co-operative movie making , in which all the cast and crew will be paid a certain percentage of the profits of the movie. So the point to think here is , the movie budget will be recovered from the satellite rights itself and the share it collects will be the profits of the movie which can be distributed to the cast and crew. More over this will make Tarak explore various styles of acting, cater to different sections of audiences, and will have 2-3 movies released yearly, which will make the fans feel happy, rather than waiting for a movie per year.

This may look like a critic writing, but as a die hard fan of Tarak , I wish to see him more like a Kamalhasan-ish rather than a Star image-ish actor.

Brilliance of “I”- Shankar’s Magic on Screen

First and foremost I condemn(my opinion, posted below in detail why I do condemn) all the reviewers who simply told its the weakest film of Shankar, not so good story line. If you want only masala movies to review or a superb story line with twists and turns, Shankar might have disappointed you, but its not the normal genre of South Indian( Tamil & Telugu ) cinema that “I ” belongs to. Its a film for technical brilliance, its a film for extra ordinary visuals, its a film for brilliant acting, a film for excellent music, when all these ingredients are there, why look for other things!

I am not going to narrate the story here. Simply I am posting the values of the movie, which are more important than a story or twists in the story.

1. A Simple and clean straight screenplay- Making the viewers understand the movie is what about without any second thought.

2. Technical brilliance in terms of every aspect from location selection to the Computer graphics and visual effects.

3. Pin pointing dialogues , simple and clean in nature making the viewer not get bored.

4. Brilliance in acting from all the cast – Vikram surely deserves a national award for this. If this movie is made in English, he might get nominated to the academy awards for best actor too.

5. Its more of a concept based technical brilliance movie rather than a complex story based movie. Its widely followed in Hollywood, a simple concept made into a full length movie.

6. Story told in an awesome way, much better than many Hollywood movies.

7. Stunts picturisation in the best possible way.

What else you need for a movie? If a twist and tale story with mass masala elements are there, will it make a good movie if everything is too artificial?

The way Vikram has moulded himself for the character itself is sufficient to watch this movie once, for Shankar’s magnum opus once, and for technology once and for the rest once.

Those who want only over dramatic, action packed movies, please keep that away from your mind and watch for the brilliance of this movie and you will get entertained.

Development of Villages in India- 2

Feedbacks and comments are welcome at my twitter account.

@sukumarlyricist

In continuation to the previous post, let me put up a few things first need to be done, to protect our environment and nature. These may look simple and do able for few, but for many these may not be interesting things at all. But one thing we should remember is when we dont care for our nature, it wont care for us.

Things to be followed.

1. Growing of 1 tree per person.
2. Keep your surroundings clean. Dispose waste in dustbins only and not somewhere else.
3. Avoid plastics and other non degradable materials usage.
4. Seperate degradable and non degradable wastes and dispose them appropriately.
5. Make sure you have a proper rain water harvesting system in place in your home.
6. Use water preciously. Dont waste water.
7. Use minimal electricity. Dont over use it and criticize governement for power supply shortage.
8. Use public transport to maximum and personal vehicles to minimum.
9. Use organic fertilizers and avoid inorganic fertilizers.
10. Use bio gas instead of LPG,wherever possible.

All the above things can be followed easily, but are we doing it? Question yourself once before crying out temperatures are rising, monsoons are improper, water and power shortages are existing. If you follow the above , atleast to certain extent, you wont face high temperatures, low ground water levels, environmental pollution increase.

These may be looking philospohical, but think once before criticizing on the fuel price increase, water shortage, power shortage, environmental pollution that have you used them effectively. If you have not used effectively, you dont have rights to cry against these problems. Because you have been a major contributor to these problems.

There are various reasons why by not doing the above mentioned things are runining our peaceful lives. Here is a little brief on how these are important.

1. Growing of 1 tree per person.

The forest coverage or the trees count have been reduced drastically all over India in the past few decades. As a result of which, our environment started acting against us.
Govt has been telling us to grow a tree per home, but now a tree per person is the minimal requirement to bring our environmental balance to a certain extent,if not fully. Also, the rain fall reduction and irregular monsoons are a result of not having enough trees.
By having more trees grown, we will defenitely have a lower temperature climate than what we are having now. More fresh air means, more healthy living. And the increase in the trees count will defenitely bring down the environmental pollution which will give us a healthier life.
There are many things inter related to this aspect and defenitely it will be one of the most important things to do. And growing trees can also help the soil absorb more water, which in turn can maintain the ground water level too. Also soil erotion wont be much if more trees are there. And they give a pleasant atmosphere to live as well. Cant we do this? We can,but we should come forward to do this. Its not a difficult thing to do at all.

The saga continues!!!!!

Development of Villages in India!

While I am writing this there is a discussion going on bringing the black money back at central level, Devendra Fadnavis becoming Maharastra CM, relief work kn Hud Hud Cyclone, Kathi controversies, sudden knowledge gained intellectuals posting how corporates are looting our villages. People of a village in Tamilnadu protesting against Pepsi and Swach Bharat campaign promotion in media.

Leaving all these aside, lets think how villages in India can be developed with little financial requirements and maximum effort. You may think its far from reality, but it is not. I am penning down my thoughts on how can India become a developed country through the development of our villages. For some these may be looking awsome, for many these may look like someone who wrote something to prove his knowledge.
Make environment Greener:
This should be the first requirement to be met for the nations development through rural development. It may look funny, but its the most required at the moment. Motorized vehicles have grown by huge numbers and almost there is a vehicle for every 10-20 people. As a result of which, the Carbon dioxide emissions are growing by huge margins every year, with the amount of trees cut down for various reasons, the environmental balance is mot maintaied. As a result of it, the rainfall level is going down every year, with irregular monsoon cycles, resulting in underground water level going down every year.
Lets have a solution for this and bring our environmental balance back. Lets make more lands cultivable, lets have good water resources for our livehood. Lets make our nation a less polluted one,by creating pollution free or low polluted villages. One may ask why not urban areas too, lets start with rural areas and then shift it to urban areas as well.
There were messages from governments of states and the centre, to grow a tree for every home, harvest rain water to make our future generations live happily. Are we taking it seriously? My answer is a big NO,because almost everyone does not take this to their minds and keep cutting the trees, not plant new ones and finally say Rain God deceived them. If you protect your nature,it will protect you, if you dont, it wont.
Is it so difficult for us to plant a tree or two for every house for a better future? I dont think so. But are we doing it? A big NO again for it. And how can we expect timely monsoons and a good underground water level? Are we  protecting our water resources, are we creating enough opportunites in our villages to keep the rain water sink into ground? Again NO for this. In most of the villages accross our country, the lakes and ponds are destroyed or either under maintained, which is one of the major reasons why rain water is let out waste.
We have 100 day work programme, wherein all rural unemployed are utilized for doing work that is required for villages, like laying roads, maintaining lakes, ponds etc. But we are not doing it properly and just spending money. A work that can be done in a day is counted for 2-3 days and all the works are done half baked. There are very few places where this scheme was utilized properly, but in many places it is not. If the water bodies are maintained properly, the environment will be definetely  greener, the ecosystem will be on a balance and most importantly, you preserve the nature for future…
To be continued!!!!

Bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh – How its going to affect the people of both regions??

Bifurcation of Andhrapradesh – I feel its not required.

This week we saw the announcement of CWC , on the formation of Telengana state from Andhrapradesh, comprising of the 10 districts of the region. The state capital Hyderabad will remain as capital city for both the states for a period of 10 years and a new state capital for Andhra region will be developed.

This was a real shock to me and has deeply hurt me, and many had the same feelings I had , I believe. Lets have a short snap shot of the pros and cons of this division if it happens , as announced.

What is the benefit for a common man like me?

I personally don’t see any benefit or development in the life of common man like me. In fact few things are going to cost more because of the state taxes between these 2 states. The life style and per capita income will not be improved for at least 5 years, as Telengana’s income will not be improving as most of the investors in the region are from other parts of the state and they will be moving back to their regions.

For Andhra-Seema region, as the new capital has to be developed , infrastructure development is required and industries has to be set up, it will take a minimum of 10 years to realize any growth in the per capita income. More over for Telengana region the food products price will be high because it needs to be obtained from Andhra region or some other region, as this part is not having much cultivable land.

Common capital – Hyderabad
Now itself, people from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions living in the state capital are being considered as people from other states. And with the bifurcation of the state , I will not be surprised if they are considered as foreigners also.

More over , one has to travel at least 200 km from the Telengana border to the state capital, through the region, which causes ample amount of insecurity to those who travel through the region , and the way the Seemandhra people are being seen by Telenganites ( not all, those who are lobbying with few power minded politicians for the carving of new state).

If we rent a car from Vijayawada, it needs to have Telengana state permit to reach the common capital , which will not be a good move. If at all a bifurcation is mandatory, develop a capital city for the other regions and then divide the state, in that case every one will be well aware that the division is going to be mandatory and people will make their mindsets according to that.

There are many more problems like these and the above 2 are just examples of how people of both the regions will be affected. More over after the formation of state it will take a minimum of 10 years to realize any real development , that too if the rulers really concentrate on the state development rather than their personal developments.

Tale of two SIvaLinga’s – Ramagiri AP Rameshwaram TN

                                                      Rameshwaram Temple

                                                Ramagiri Valeeshwarar temple Tank

Some one might wonder how the two temples located around 700km apart are interlinked, that too the famous Rameshwaram Temple, termed as Varanasi of south is interlinked with an infamous temple located in small village of Andhrapradesh( earlier Madras Presidency). The answer is our Hindu Mythology.

Everyone knows about the Sand SivaLinga made by Seetha Devi at Rameshwaram, for performing pooja, because the linga from Kasi, bought by Hanuman , came late. But many of us are not aware, what caused the delay and stood as the main reason for the making of Sand Sivalinga at Rameshwaram.

The myth goes like this.

Hanuman went to Kashi from Rameshwaram, to get Sivalinga for Shri Ram-Seetha Devi rituals , to be performed at Rameshwaram ( The name of the place came from the pooja performed by Lord Ram- Ram performing pooja to Lord Eeshwar and hence the name Rameshwaram). On the way, he feels thirsty and sees a water stream flowing down there, which is Kalangi Madugu. To quench his thirst , he comes down and tries to find some one who can hold the linga till he quenches his thirst.

He finds a shepherd boy( Lord Bairava), and he requests the boy to hold the linga for some time , so that his thirst can be quenched. After drinking water, Hanuman gets surprised to see the linga is kept on ground , which should not happen. He did not realize it as the power of Bhairava, instead he thinks , the boy was not able to hold the heavy linga. He tries with all the possible ways to uproot the linga, he fails. He tries to pull out the linga with his tail, only the tail marks gets embossed on the linga and the linga head gets slanted a bit.

He realizes the act of Lord Bhaiarva and then goes back to Kasi to bring a new linga. In the mean time, since the muhurat of the rituals is about to get over, the sand linga is made by Sita devi to perform the pooja without any delay. The new linga bought by Hanuman is also placed in Rameshwaram and rituals were performed.

The ramagiri temple was built in AD 900-1000 period by Pallava rulers and it is almost in dying stage , due to lack of maintenance. Our rich architecture is getting un noticed and we are losing many valuable talent of our ancestors.

Kalangi madugu later got the name of Ramagiri, meaning Rama’s hill, because of the linga for Ram’s pooja was placed here. The tank of the temple has its water inflow in the form of Nandi mouth, and it never got dry over ages, even if the landscape had no rains for a decade altogether.

Rise of SunRisers- IPL6

Its too early to say, but the performances of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL6 is worth mentioning. Last year the team with their old Franchise, Deccan Chargers, almost finished with the wooden spoon, just ahead of Wooden spoon holders PWI, with a better marginal net run rate, with just 4 wins of 12 games.

This season, they had started with a good note. This reminds me how DC had did in 1st season, and bounced back in the second with magnificent wins in its first 4 games, and finally emerging as winners.

On paper, Sunrisers Hyderabad is a underdog. It is because they don’t have single handed match winners like Chris Gayle, or electrifying fielders fielders , or the best bowling attack. But still their wins in first two games was possible because of the following reasons.

1. SunRisers knew what is their strength and what is their weakness.
2. Jinx never works always, Uppal stadium, being their home ground was not so lucky all these days. If hard work is put in properly, as a unit, the jinx will fail, which SRH proved.
3. Few decisions taken at right time, worked out perfectly their way.
4. Perfect utilization of resources. It can be anyone’s day in T20, but if the resources are utilized properly, even David can prevail against Goliath. That is what SRH proved so far.

I am not bothered how many wins they are going to get this season, or on what position they are going to finish this season, but with the confidence got from first 2 games, they are surely going to be competitive in the entire tournament and finish better than their previous 2 seasons.

The players who turned around the game are almost the entire playing XI they fielded. It cannot be just ruled out that one player had made the entire difference , like what Chris Gayle’s score made it for RCB Vs MI. The players might not have got Orange or purple cap after 7 games and 5 days in this season, but surely they gave on the park, for what they are being paid for.

Here we look how the team has went into winning ways.

Akshat Reddy – The Hyderabadi Ranji opener, with a domestic T20 ton under his name( his debut innings if I am not wrong), had given solid starts to the team and did the openers role perfectly, 50 runs in 2 games, at a touch lower strike rate of 98. But being both the games are low scoring encounters, his contribution mattered much than the strike rate. His fielding definitely saved good amount of runs for his team.

Thisira Perera – The pinch hitting all rounder from Srilanka, perfectly filled in the role of allrounder by scoring a quick fire 30 in first game and 7 in 2nd, besides taking 3 wickets at below 7 RPO in 2 games.

Dale Steyn – The fiery Proteas paceman is the spear head of the attack, which lacks bowlers who are atleast 75% capable of what he can do. But his presence and guidance along with Waqar , had bought the best of the rest of bowling unit. His cleaning of tail in first game, besides giving away just 11 runs in 3.5 overs is absolute brilliance in 1st game. He went for runs in 2nd game, taking just a wicket, but his super over performance is absolutely brilliant against Gayle and Kohli, and was able to defend 20 runs , by just giving away 15 runs.

Hanuma Vihari – The player of match against RCB, is not a hard hitter, the member of U19 winning world cup squad in Australia, had proved he is a good defensive player, who can bat long. His knock of 44 is instrumental in leveling the scores in 2nd game and winning in Super over. And his wicket of 1st ball in IPL , that of Gayle will be remembered at least till the end of this season.Currently with 56 runs in 2 games at 56, he is the leading run scorer for SRH.

Asish Reddy – The cheeky all rounder from Hyderabad Ranji team had proved , he is not the one against whom to attack, he took a crucial wicket in each of the games. With the willow he scored 21 runs in 2 games. His wickets of Ross Taylor and Virat Kohli in 1st & 2nd games, had definitely turned the course of the match.

Amit Mishra – The Indian leggie from Haryana is among the wickets this season and scalped 4 in 2 games, along with Steyn he is the leading wicket taker for his team. His economical spells had ensured the targets are defended and the opposition has not went on for big targets.

Ishant – The lanky Indian pacer had found his rhythm and is among the wickets . His 3 wickets in 2nd game was so crucial and his economical spell in 1st game was also equally appreciable. Hope he continues the same way and gives a good pace attack to his team.

Cameron White – He may have failed in both the games with bat, but his super over attack against Vinay was instrumental to give 21 run target for the opposition.
