My view on Mayakkam Enna!!!

The recently released Selvaraghavan-Dhanush-Richa combo movie, Mayakkam Enna is the talk of Tamil Industry now. In my view, the movie is not upto the mark of Selvaraghavan and not easily understandable to common audience. Let me put up how the movie could have been made fantastic with the same script.

1. Karthi’s friend Sundar’s girlfriend is Yamini. Sundar loves her to the core but on the otherway Karthi gets fascinated to her and Yamini turns up towards Karthi thus cheating Sundar’s love and friendship. Instead of this, it should have been made as Karthi & Sundar getting introduced to Yamini at the same time and Yamini rejecting Sundar’s love and expressing her love to Karthi.

2. Karthi tells he cant cheat his friend and he is more important than Yamini. Also tells she is like his sister, but he doesnt live upto that even for a minute. This should have been made as Karthi telling Yamini that he likes her but he cant cheat his friend too. This scene really hurts the “Sister Sentiment”. How can a guy marry a “Sister -Like” girl? Absolute rubbish way of portraying relationship.

3. Karthi falls from the hotel balcony. He gets mentally instable. Fine, but the scenes following that to depict his mental instablity by always beating his beloved wife is absolute rubbish. Even getting as a reason for her abortion. These scenes are diverting the main plot of the movie and making many people irraitated while watching it.

4. After getting abortion only, Yamini realises that his beautiful photographs should get published atleast in local magazines. If this scene is kept as continuation after Karthi’s accident as a motive by Yamini to show Karthi’s talent to the world. The storyline would have been fantastic. The story would have moved forward at faster pace and more realistic as well as entertaining. Few twists and turns could have been included which happens to every talented guy fighting for a recognition to make the movie more realistic.

I wonder how a fantastic director ,Selva who made wonderful movies like Kadhal Kondein,7G Rainbow colony,Ayirathil oruvan,Aduvari Matalaku Arthale Verule came up with such a crap narration of this fantastic story line. I still rate Ayirathil oruvan as the best from Selva and Mayakkam enna goes overboard by killing relationship values as well as portraying lot of irritating scenes. Simply, a crap narration in the name of realistic narration.

Better stay away from it. After watching the movie, I feared whether I will become a psycho like the character of Dhanush in the movie. No wife will stay with her husband if he assaults her everyday for few years non-stop even if she had loved him to the core and he is mentally instable. Thats highly un-realistic.

KO

Director : KV Anand
Star Cast : Jiiva,Priya,Prakash Raj,Ajmal
Year : 2011

KO is a fast paced political-news media based thriller movie rocking all over Tamilnadu with its new style of presentation and touching upon many sensitive issues on current affairs. This movie reveals how the news media can change the society and its impact on all aspects.

Ashwin is a photographer of the news daily Dhinaanjal and is very pro-active photographer who risks his life to capture many evil incidents in the society. Renuka(priya) is a journalist in the same daily who is responsible for publishing sensitive issues in the society. Vasanthan(Ajmal) is the leader of NGO Siragugal which is about to take part in active politics to reform the society. Yogi(Prakash Raj) is the current CM and Ayenarappan( Kota SrinivasaRao) is the opposition party leader.

Ashwin captures all the evil activities of Yogi & Ayenarappan and helps Vasanthan’s siragugal to become the winner and ruling party. In this activity, a massive bomb blast takes the lives of 30 candidates of Siragugal and many more media and public. Ashwin tries to figure out who were responsible and finds them. In the end Ashwin saves the nation from those evil forces.

The narration is too pacy and makes the audience sit at the corner of seat for every scene. The production values are rich . Songs and BGM were nice . Music by Harris Jayaraj is an asset to the movie. The performances by all the lead actors has been superb and its a worth watchable movie.

Note : This is my personal review and not a generalised one. Its your take to go for the movie or not.

Shakti (Telugu)

Director : Meher Ramesh

Synopsis:

Shakti Swaroop(NTR Jr) is a NSA guard who accidentally gaurds Ileana during one of his under cover operations in Rajasthan. Ileana is daughter of Prabhu(Mahadevaraya) who is a Central minister and owns a price less diamond from his ancestors. He is in talks with Jockie Shroff for a Rudhra Shoola which is needed for performing a pooja at a Shakti Peetam which is the governing one of the 18 famous Shakti peetams of India.

Meanwhile Pooja bedi also is in talks with Jackie to get hold of the Rudhra Shoola and destroy the Shakti peetams of India and destroy the country totally.

Sonu Sood, Pooja’s husband dies in a clash with Rudra(NTR jr) 27 years back while he tries to destroy the Shakti peetams of India. The rest of the story is how Shakti swaroop saves the Shakti peetams and the Rudhra Shoolam.

The screenplay had been good in the first half and average in the second half.. on the whole the movie is a visual feast which is being shot in exotic locations and kumbha mela. The songs and BGM are good and add to the pace of the movie. An interesting novel plot to watch barring few logical errors( the logical errors should not be taken into picture while watching commercial flicks).

Cinematography,Choreography had been a great asset to the movie.

On the whole its a movie for the masses….
