A multistarrer from N- Heroes! Dream for many N fans!

Telugu Industry has not been so favorable to multistarrers though here and there were few multistarrers. Few of the notable multistarrers were critically acclaimed as well as commercially successful and few ended up  as failures too.

The multistarrer movies Telugu audience supported well in the last decade are

1. Seethamma Vakitlo Sirmalle Chettu – Venkatesh & Mahesh Babu

2. Gopala Gopala – Venkatesh & Pawankalyan

3. Yevadu – Ramcharan & Allu Arjun

4. Oo kodathara ulikki padthara – NBK & Manoj

5. Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummedha – Manchu Heroes.

6.Sankranthi – Venkatesh,Srikanth

On the other hand we have seen few failures as well

1. Krishnarjuna  – Vishnu & Nagarjuna

2. Shadow- Venkatesh & Srikanth

3. Romeo- Raviteja & Sairam Shankar

4. Sarochcharu – Raviteja & Nara Rohit

Coming to N heroes, we have Tarak, NBK, Kalyanram, Tarakarathna, Nara Rohit and NHK was a hero as well. Its wish of many fans to see at least few of these heroes share screen space on the silver screen. So why not a movie be made with N heroes combination?

1)A family entertainer in which NBK& NHK in father roles,Tarak, NKR, Tarakarathna, Nara Rohit in the current generation roles
2) A simple family drama with NBK,Tarak,NKR/Tarakarathna

3) A full length comedy entertainer with Tarak, NKR,Tarakarathna, Rohit.

The movie can be made under NTR arts banner with a limited budget ,as a concept based movie with more comedy, so that the movie will be a minimum guarantee hit and will emerge as a commercial hit at the box office. More over this can help N heroes like NKR, Tarakarathna, Nara rohit who are waiting for a big commercial success. Will make many N fans dream come true and also it will be a visual treat for us to see at least 2-3 N heroes on silver screen together!

Waiting for feedback from my dear co Tarak fans on this thought!

Temper – My Take

All Tarak fans are eagerly awaiting for Temper movie ,so are Puri fans. Puri is on a good track record recently with Businessman,Heartattack becoming hits and Idharammayilatho being an average flick. On the other hand, Tarak , is in need of a blockbuster, as his last 2 movies were not hits at Boxoffice

Positives:
1. This is the third movie for Tarak as cop and his previous 2 cop based movies are hits.
2. Puri is well known for handling cop based movies.
3. Puri makes stylish underplay movies that turn as heavy grossers at BO
4. Tarak performance irrespective of the script will be the highlight and best as usual.
5. Dialogue delivery of Tarak is the best asset.

6. Previous combo from these was a failure at BO and hence it will be a defenite plus.
7. Last 2 movies of Tarak not hits at BO

Negatives:

1. Piracy- for all movies its not avoidable
2. Expectations for a mass flick from Tarak – if its a class flick,it may not go well with a section of audience
3. Anup rubens is not known for best music. If he turns out good it will be a plus to Temper than a minus.
4. Release time. If it clashes with any biggie, the result of the other biggie might impact Temper.

As a Tarak die hard fan, I am hoping this movie will be a milestone in Tarak’s performance in the movie and at the BO.

My take on a Fan’s emotional speech to NTR Jr@Tarak!

Recently a die hard fan of Tarak @ NTR jr from Bangalore has posted a audio clip in youtube about his feelings on Tarak’s movies and what kind of roles he wishes to see Tarak in future. After listening to the clip, I felt its not only his feeling alone and many other fans like him has the same feeling too. There is good amount of coverage in the media(ABN, TV9,Times of India) about the feelings of him.

Since most of the fans has already listened to the clip there is nothing much to be told about the clip here. My sincere thanks to this die hard fan for bringing out the feelings of atleast many thousands of NTR fans to public.

Here I wish to continue from where he left. No one in Telugu Film Industry can deny the fact that Tarak is the best of the lot of current generation heroes , who is best in terms of acting, dance and high energetic performances. With all the qualities he has in terms of his onscreen performance , I feel he has not even did 50% of his capability he possesses. A section of the fans might not agree to this, but its true.

The kind of performances he delivered in Aadhi,Simhadri,Yamadonga,Raakhi,Ooseravalli are not repeated again in any of his movies, or not even half of it is repeated in other movies. His humourous roles in Brindavanam, Adhurs proved that he is very good in doing such roles with ease and give the best. But the recent movies like Ramayya vasthavayya, Rabhasa had weak story lines though Tarak tried to give best out of him, they failed to impress the audience.

I feel that Tarak is again pulled back to his mass flicks by the movie makers which will not give any scope for him to deliver performances to his full capability. Tarak , if chooses stories that offer full scope to deliver much more performances will defenitely make him uncomparable. But at present he is not doing so. Hope Temper reveals another dimension of his performances and satisfy all sections of the audiences.

As of now, Tarak is confined to the mass section of audience and he is seen as a mass hero, though he is way above that. Though he managed to get close to family and female audience with adhurs, brindavanam and baadshah , he dint manage to hold these sections with his other movies. Fans like me feel that he has to do something different to get hold of all sections of audience and do much more meaty roles that can elevate his performances and make him a complete actor than simply a Mass hero.

For doing that first he needs to think beyond his star image and select movies that offer much more scope and variety to his acting dimensions. There are lot of new , talented film makers who are very good in doing off beat cinema, or movies that give much scope for the main cast to give their best performances. And added to that there are concept based movies, similar to Hollywood which can be done in a short period of time and in the best way. This does not mean that Tarak should stop doing Mass entertainers, in between his mass flicks, he can do different genre movies that will cater to different sections of audiences which will increase his fan base to a greater extent and bring family, female and youth to his movies much more than present scenario.

I have a few suggestions to Tarak for utilizing his full capability as actor, those will definitely help him to reach towering heights if chosen.

1. Getting into Shankar, Manirathnam movies , that are beyond his star image( like Oke okkadu, Aparichithudu,I)

2. Simple Love stories with lot of humour

3. Family entertainers with very little mass elements

4. Concept oriented movies

5. Situation based movies ( story starts and ends on the same day – a thrilling incedent / humours incident is the core of the movie)

6. Full length comedy entertainers

7. Thrillers ( like bhadram)

8. Social message oriented movies

9. Off beat movies

Except for the point 1, all the rest can be done within 20-30 days of shooting time, with a lower budget and can be done in between 2 mass entertainers. This will bring in more dimensions to his acting, he can show his full acting capability, and make movies catering to all sections of audiences. Barring the remuneration of the cast and crew, these movies can be done within a budget of 2-5 crores. and with the market capability and stardom of Tarak, these will end up as commercially successful movies too, besides being successful on performance front.

More over these can be done on co-operative movie making , in which all the cast and crew will be paid a certain percentage of the profits of the movie. So the point to think here is , the movie budget will be recovered from the satellite rights itself and the share it collects will be the profits of the movie which can be distributed to the cast and crew. More over this will make Tarak explore various styles of acting, cater to different sections of audiences, and will have 2-3 movies released yearly, which will make the fans feel happy, rather than waiting for a movie per year.

This may look like a critic writing, but as a die hard fan of Tarak , I wish to see him more like a Kamalhasan-ish rather than a Star image-ish actor.

Brilliance of “I”- Shankar’s Magic on Screen

First and foremost I condemn(my opinion, posted below in detail why I do condemn) all the reviewers who simply told its the weakest film of Shankar, not so good story line. If you want only masala movies to review or a superb story line with twists and turns, Shankar might have disappointed you, but its not the normal genre of South Indian( Tamil & Telugu ) cinema that “I ” belongs to. Its a film for technical brilliance, its a film for extra ordinary visuals, its a film for brilliant acting, a film for excellent music, when all these ingredients are there, why look for other things!

I am not going to narrate the story here. Simply I am posting the values of the movie, which are more important than a story or twists in the story.

1. A Simple and clean straight screenplay- Making the viewers understand the movie is what about without any second thought.

2. Technical brilliance in terms of every aspect from location selection to the Computer graphics and visual effects.

3. Pin pointing dialogues , simple and clean in nature making the viewer not get bored.

4. Brilliance in acting from all the cast – Vikram surely deserves a national award for this. If this movie is made in English, he might get nominated to the academy awards for best actor too.

5. Its more of a concept based technical brilliance movie rather than a complex story based movie. Its widely followed in Hollywood, a simple concept made into a full length movie.

6. Story told in an awesome way, much better than many Hollywood movies.

7. Stunts picturisation in the best possible way.

What else you need for a movie? If a twist and tale story with mass masala elements are there, will it make a good movie if everything is too artificial?

The way Vikram has moulded himself for the character itself is sufficient to watch this movie once, for Shankar’s magnum opus once, and for technology once and for the rest once.

Those who want only over dramatic, action packed movies, please keep that away from your mind and watch for the brilliance of this movie and you will get entertained.

Baadshah – An Energetic Entertainer

The much awaited movie of this summer, Baadshah was released last Friday and it has been hot cake at the Telugu Box office.

I watched the movie and here is my view on it.

Story :
The story is not much new one to us. It is a regular pakka commercial flick story, with everything placed at required place and pace to entertain people. My rating is 8/10 for the story.

Screenplay :
This is the aspect which makes the movie more interesting to watch. I can assure that Sreenu Vytla has understood the pulse of the audience and delivers his screenplay with pacy and racy scenes, making the audience get entertained every moment of it. The scenes of Sangeet function, hero entrance, climax are worth mentioning. My rating is 9/10 for this.

Dialogues :
Sharp one liners of Vytla trade mark are available throughout the movie and almost all the dialogues are worth mentioning. Awesome punch dialogues and correct placing of those makes movie more entertaining. My rating is 9/10

Choreography :
After a long gap, NTR is back with energetic dances on par with his flicks like Ashok,Yamadonga,Kantri. Well choregraphed songs add energy to the movie, and the front benchers cannot control themselves, stepping out to do few steps in front of the movie watchers. My Rating 9/10.

Production:
It is a lavish production by Bandla Ganesh, the location selection , rich production values make the movie look lot better. Can give 9.5/10.

Music and BGM:

Thaman did wonderful job with the music and BGM for this movie, if you watch this in a cinema, with good music effect, I am sure, you will love it like anything. There are few places, where he went little overboard, but on the whole can give a 9/10 rating. It is an asset to the movie for sure.

Performances:

Every character from the Hero NTR jr,heroine Kajal , Brahmi, Vennela Kishore, MS Narayana,Nasser,Kelly Dorjee, Ashish Vidhyardhi,Pradeep Rawat, Navdeep,Sidharth had done perfect job for the roles given to them. Never you feel the acting has gone overboard or less than required level. My rating is 9/10 for artist performances.

Technical Aspects :

All the technical aspects are neat in the movie and adds value to the entertainment of the audience. Can give 9 /10.

On the whole the movie is an energetic entertainer for all classes and sectors of audience. My overall rating is 9/10 for this movie.

Vishwaroopam – Is it Govt’s Venegance act against Kamal?

There is an article in Junior Vikatan, mentioning the following as reasons for the ban on Vishwaroopam

1. Kamal being close to Kalaignar family & giving Salem area rights to Udhay Stalin.
2. Not Selling Satellite rights to Jaya TV.

Following today’s verdict of HC , ruling in favour of the state government. All the national TV channels started discussing with many personalties who are in support and opposing the movie.

The basic questions were

1. Is freedom of expression getting killed in this nation?
2. Is it a State government’s venegance act, citing the fringe protestors?
3. Is the state government playing Vote bank politics by listening to the protestors?

Going through the issues, all these look perfect and finally it has become a personal grudge of the TN ruling party.

Where is democracy living in this country?

I really thank Dhanush a lot for giving a statement, if Kamal Hasan leaves the country, we will be going behind him wherever he goes, in answer to anchor’s question.

In the same show, Govt’s advocate is simply Saying ” No No No No to everything, the movie has to be banned because of the protests”.

In Times now- Arnab’ show, Inayathulla’s is unable to counter the questions asked by Leela samson ,Mahesh Bhat and Arnab. This shows how adament they are in cornering the movie , though the scenes shown in the movie were happened in US-Taliban war. When Arnab asked what is the Censor board scam raised by Govt advocate, he is repeatedly saying there is scam ,there is scam but not at all saying what is the scam… It proves how baseless the protests are asking for the ban. He is shouting like anything simply and meaningless.

Its a real shameful situation for our democracy , freedom and freedom of expression.

Vishwaroopam Issue- Death Knell to Tamil Cinema

Last evening at 10.15 pm ,the high court judge clearead Vishwaroopam for the release. Orders has been passed to the Govt to remove 144 section in all districts against screening of this movie. Later when Govt Advocate General wanted to get a stay order , the court ordered that it will be taken up for hearing at 02.15 pm today, and till that time the judgement should be implemented, but it was not. Isn’t it not obeying high court orders , by the govt?

And moreover, this issue is being seen as an issue for Vishwaroopam and Kamal hasan alone. It is not. It is the supressing act by Govt against Tamil Cine Industry. Where the unity among film industry had gone now? Why there are no voices raising in support of the movie from the industry, except few? Are they afraid of the govt, or they are thinking that they do not have freedom of speech and expression?

We boast up that we are the largest democratic and secular country in this world, but I dont see both existing. No freedom of speech, no freedom of expression allowed here. But still we call ours is democracy, I feel dictatorship is lot better, because we will be knowing clearly what will be allowed and what not.

Govt is trying all the possible ways , with the help of the protestors to ban the movie. There are some news coming out that 1 hour duration of the movie which is portraying Afghan militants should be removed, which is the heart of the movie. What hurts the sentiments of these protestors , if an Afghan militant is shown as how he is in real life , which the whole world knows. Do they want to show Afghan militants as heroes of the movie and others as villains? People of thier community who had watched the movie has not found anything offensive, or anything shown which is not happening around the world in reality. Only a few are disliking it because they treat their community ahead of the country.

If you dont like the movie, or dont like to watch it, you do not watch and support it. Why you are asking for a complete ban of the movie? Is it democratic act? Is it patriotic act? It is really degrading thier communtiy. Arent they realising a movie will be seen as a movie by our audience? How many films had really created impact in our society? I bet there is none so far.

It really makes many to feel that , there is no issue other than this, that the Govt has to resolve. The entire state is facing lot of power cuts and many other issues, cant the govt concentrate on those rather than cornering a movie and banning it, despite the High court ruling that the movie can be screened and there is no offensive content at all.

The interview given by Kamal really reveals how he has been cornered and intentional ban against his movie with political motives behind it. Justice delayed is justice not given. Are the people asking for ban are thinking that every one else are fools? It looks they are looking so.

All these acts directly and indirectly reveals few things

1. Kamal hasan has to be cornered, because he supported Chidambaram & did not agree to give satellite rights to Jaya TV
2. There is no freedom of speech and expression exisisting and democracy too.
3. The protestors want to show that they do not have patriotism and they want all the Afghani & Paki militants as good people, because they belong to these protestors community. And more publicity for them.
4. Censor board certification is not at all having any value
5. High court judgement needs not be followed by the Govt mandatorily.

There are millions are people eagerly waiting to watch the movie in TN. Absolute failure of Govt and democracy here in this case.

P.S : It is not to offend any one. Its just my view on the happenings going on Vishwaroopam. Everyone knows all these too.

Vishwaroopam- Ban lifted!

At last the court goes with the genuine judgement and proves there is some democracy existing still in the country. This brings relief not only to Kamal and the Tamil cine industry. Also, for all the Kamalians, Movie lovers and millions of muslim brothers and sisters who were feeling ashamed and embarrassed because of the protests by few religious organizations.

The judge had ruled that it the “the best ever muslim friendly movie in recent times”, of course it is 200% true and the movie is portraying the Indian muslim character “WISAM” in the best possible way, which can make everyone to respect the community.

Now where the protestors , who caused a big disgrace to their community, will keep their heads now? Their logical( illogical ) reasons asking for a ban became ashes now. Its hard fought victory for Kamal and Vishwaroopam. Although this is expected, the protestors were in news for quite some time.

Today afternoon, the movie was released on full flow in Bangalore, despite being a weekday, all the shows got housefulls, within minutes after the Commissioner had given green signal for the screening. All the shows ( 24) were housefulls in Rockline Cinemas, Bangalore from Jan 25th. Now every screen is running fulls, in the city. I am damn sure that this will be be the top grosser for Tamil movies in Bangalore, if not , at least top grossing Kamal movie here.

I am waiting for the verdict eagerly , like millions of Kamalians, and finally breathed sigh of relief, when the announcement came in NDTV. Great Kamal Sir. The support for Kamal rendered in social networking is at the peak level possible ,like never before.

The only thing I felt sad is the way Nadigar Sangam kept silent and did not show full support for the movie.

At last , those who asked for the ban failed miserably now. Once again Truth Triumphed in this country. Warm hearty thanks for all those who supported Kamal. Vishwaroopam got a Vishwaroop Victory. Special thanks for the judge who stood on the fact that there is nothing to ban the movie.

Vishwaroopam – Why Dirty Politics?

Twist and Turn came in the protest against Vishwaroopam today , in the court.

Advocate General saying that it will create law and order problem in the state and asking to remove all the scenes that involves Afghan terrorists is a foolish statement by the well learned judicial person. More over, raising an issue that Censor board has cleared it illegally and the censor certificate is a Scam is absolutely rubbish.

Are they thinking every one are fools around them? When Kamal’s advocate asked will they deposit Rs 100 crore towards the losses incurred by the film, they had no answers. It looks like the state government, who is looking out to corner Kamal with the help of the protestors.

If Kamal had given the satellite rights to Jaya TV, surely this ban would never been into picture. Since he had not given, he is politically targetted with the Power the Government has. When Judge himself is convinced that there are no offensive scenes and movie will cause no harm to society, why this fake allegations are raised now?

If the censor board certification is a scam , dont they know it before? Why they are initiating it now, is it because the judge is about to give a green signal to the release of the movie?

If the Governement cannot maintain law and order of the state , for the release of a movie, which has no offensive content, they how the Government will protect common human during thier tenure?

Watch movie as a movie and not some thing else, if you want to corner some one , corner him legally . Not  by banning his movie. An artist can never be supressed by these kind of silly protests and ban. Already it is a big hit overseas and in the places where it got released.

Kamal has every right to demand the Government to pay compensation ( atleast INR 80 Crs ) towards the losses incurred by him because of the opposing from them , for the release of the movie. This is the “CULTURAL TERRORISM” followed here. Every artist is made look liek a Minority , than any community person. Shame on the society and Shame on the Govt citing law and order reasons. Its clearly looking like a personal grudge and not because of the content of the movie.

If you do not promote these kind of magnum opus movies , its not a problem, but if you oppose it , our film industry will never grow, and we will end up in making masala movies all the time, with no scope for technology or performances.

Either the release of the movie should happen , or else compensation has to be given to Kamal Hasan. He should be given for the losses incurred by him as a producer of the movie.

Threat to Vishwaroopam – Is it right?

The threatening statements against screening of Vishwaroopam were out today. It was to the extreme level, saying that they will take law into their hands if at all the movie gets screened in India. Who are these people to stop an artist from releasing his film in theatres , which contains many real facts about the 2002 US-Taliban war mixed up with sci fiction?

Is there no other way to protest against a movie? There are many other ways. They can go to the supreme court, let the judges see the movie and give their judgement. Who gave these people rights to ban an individual’s freedom of expression, which is taken in the best possible way?

Are these protestors coming out to say that they have been portrayed badly in the movie as Militants? Did it means they are supporting the Taliban militants and their JIHAD,which resulted in merciless killing of millions of people so far?

Or else it means that they should be treated like the Talibans?

The way the protests are going gives this impression only. There are millions of Muslims , who are friendly with other communities of the country, who are facing embarrassing situation because of these few hundreds of protestors. This protest is really degrading their community , more than making others to show respect towards them.

Is law and order not listening to the threatening statements of these people? How the people depending on the vote bank of these protesters take action against them, in this secular country. Really its a shameful moment of Tamil Cinema and I dont see any film personalities coming out and supporting a fellow Industry person, except a few.

P.S – Its not to offend any one individually. Its a anguish on the threatening statements by few people against the Legend of Indian Cinema. I am sorry if it directly or indirectly offends any one else.
